Tagging Supports FERC Order 771
Houston, TX. – March 5, 2013 –
SoftSmiths, Inc., a leading energy software solutions

deploying changes to the SoftSmiths Electronic Tagging
application to support its customers in complying with
FERC Order 771.
FERC Order 771 includes
requirements for Purchasing/Selling Entities (PSEs) and
Balancing Authorities (BAs) to include FERC on e-Tags
within the CC list. The compliance date for this Order
is March 15, 2013.
SoftSmiths Electronic Tagging
and e-Link applications provide energy organizations

either homegrown or third-party supplied scheduling
The changes include a user-configurable
setting to include FERC in the CC list for tags authored
by the PSE. This setting is enabled by default. As a
result FERC will be automatically added into the CC list
when creating a new e-Tag, when creating a new e-Tag
using a Tag Template, when copying an e-Tag to create a
new e-Tag, when modifying a Delayed e-Tag, and when
creating an e-Tag using SoftSmiths e-Link API
SoftSmiths will turn on the processing to support FERC
Order 771 on March 15, 2013.
