SoftSmiths adds Outage Scheduler to SoftSmiths Market-ERCOT Suite

Houston, TX. – May 22, 2008 – SoftSmiths, Inc., a leading energy software solutions and services company, today announced the addition of a standalone interface to its SoftSmiths Market-ERCOT suite, enabling Market Participants to connect to ERCOT’s Outage Scheduler to enter, modify, receive and view outages.

SoftSmiths Markets is a suite of modular applications that delivers the functionality for bidding, Scheduling and Settlement activities, and now includes the Outage Scheduler interface.

SoftSmiths Market - Scheduling: to submit plans, offer generation, schedule energy.

Softsmiths Market– Settlement: to perform Shadow Settlement, settlement verification and reconciliation, dispute management and analysis.

SoftSmiths Market - LMP: allows market participants to collect and monitor LMP values published by regional market operators, displays these values in graphical and tabular formats, and provides tools to analyze LMP data. By retaining historical LMP data in a local repository, SoftSmiths Market - LMP facilitates trend analysis, and provides a detailed history of changes to LMP values during the day-ahead, real-time, and settlement phases.

SoftSmiths Market applications increase the effectiveness of ERCOT Market Participants’ operations by decreasing the time required to submit information to ERCOT and resolve billing charges with ERCOT.

The Outage Scheduler interface supports the critical business process of scheduling planned generation, load resource, and forced outages that impact grid reliability and capacity. SoftSmiths successfully participated in ERCOT’s Outage Scheduler connectivity and submission testing to verify a Market Participant’s ability to receive and send outage requests and receive outage status changes.
